I Extend My Hand In Friendship...

Hello fellow bloggers!!

Just a brief about a new born into the exciting world of blogging! They call me John Sampson and have been doing so since '61! I have been brought up and educated in Kalimpong,a town in the  sub Himalayan region of the district of Darjeeling, India. I hope that I can bring in a fair amount of  the freshness of the snow capped Himalayas into what I post.

I'm married and have been for the past twenty years. The wife,Lalita, is from New Delhi and she has given me the best kids a man could ask for. The son,Anish, is a brilliant eleven year old while my daughter, who is all of eighteen, will be appearing for her class 12 Board exams this year.

Both of us are in the profession of educating young minds, a job both of us enjoy thoroughly. Our only dream is to give the best to our kids so that they grow up to be good, responsible citizens.

I love reading, ( whenever I get the time, which is pretty rare!), listening to slow rock, blues and old Hindi songs.I do a fair bit of cooking and this has, in a way, spoilt the wife's habits...! she hates cooking dinner so I'm invariably tying the apron strings at least five evenings a week!

Teaching English, as a foreign language, is my forte and have been doing so for the past eighteen years or so..I love the challenge of keeping pace with an ever changing medium that the English language is! Just see what it looks like today, what with text messaging taking a serious toll on the standards of spellings. Can we stem the trend?

It's my first hand at blogging. I take it that it's pretty challenging, exciting and fast paced..!!I think that I'm already addicted..there's so much to say, there's so much to share and explore and so many people to meet. Isn't it so great that there are thousands of people out there, blogging for all they're worth, each having his or her own stories to tell and opinions to share and all in their own unique styles...simply fascinating!!!

Well folks..will post again soon..till then...namaste!
